Alexander Beck, geb. 1952, lebt als freier
Fotograf in Frankfurt am Main, Deutschland.
Die hier gezeigten Arbeiten entstanden in Lith-Technik als Silbergelatineabzüge auf Barytpapier.
Lith-Vergrößerungen sind nicht nur Handabzüge, sondern Unikate, das heißt jede Vergrößerung hat ihren eigenen Charakter und ist nicht wiederholbar, Auflagen sind also nicht möglich.
Vergrößert wird auf ein aufwendig hergestelltes Chlorbrombarytpapier, entwickelt wird per Hand in einem Lithentwickler.
Durch Zugabe von Additiven im Entwicklerprozeß kann man den Farbton beeinflussen, von gelb, rosa, orange bis braun.

Alexander Beck, nacido en 1952, ejerce de fotógrafo independiente en Frankfurt am Main, Alemania. Los trabajos que aquí podemos ver se realizaron con la técnica Lith como copias de gelatina de plata sobre papel baritado. Las ampliaciones Lith no son únicamente copias manuales, sino ejemplares únicos, por lo que cada ampliación posee su propio carácter y es irrepetible, por ello no es posible su reproducción. Se amplia sobre un papel de barita-clorobromo de primerísima calidad, se revela a mano con un revelador de Lith. Con la incorporación de aditivos en el proceso del revelado se puede influir en el tono del color, desde amarillo, rosa, naranja hasta marrón.

Lith enlargements are not only hand-made prints, but unique in themselves, in that each enlargement has its own unrepeatable character, making print runs impossible. They are enlarged on painstakingly manufactured chlorobromide baryta paper, and developed by hand in a lith developer.
The use of additives in the development process makes it possible to influence the shades of colour, from yellow, pink or orange through to brown.
