Peter Knaup, geboren in Frankfurt an der Oder, beginnt nach Abschluss des Studiums der Betriebswirtsaftslehre seine Karriere als Fotograf in Barcelona, wo er sich 1973 sechs Monate aufhält, um das architektonische Werk Antoní Gaudís zu fotografieren.
1974 eröffnet er ein Studio für Stillife-Fotografie, zunächst in München, später in Frankfurt am Main. In Paris, wo er sich 1982 niederlässt, kommt er sehr schnell mit der redaktionellen Fotografie in Berührung. Bald arbeitet er für die wichtigen Magazine für Mode, Lifestyle und Architektur sowie für die Werbeszene in Paris, London und Milano. Er ist Autor zahlreicher internationaler Werbekampagnen.
Architektur, Landschaft, Porträt und Stierkampf sind seit dem Beginn seines Interesses für die Fotografie seine liebsten Themen. Zur Zeit arbeitet er an einem Architekturprojekt über Venedig.

En 1973, en Barcelona, la obra arquitectónica de Antonio Gaudí despertó su talento fotográfico dando comienzo a su carrera profesional.
En 1974 se presentó, en Alemania como fotógrafo publicitario, abriendo un Estudio en Munich y al poco tiempo otro en Frankfurt.
En 1982, radicado en París, es convocado por empresas, anunciantes y agencias de publicidad de primer nivel.
Sus trabajos fueron publicados en las mejores revistas de Francia. Su refinado estilo fotográfico fue luego exitosamente aceptado en Londres y en Milán.
Sus trabajos fotográficos fueron reconocidos y premiados por diferentes jurados internacionales.
Se suman a las imágenes publicitarias, las fotos de paisajes, de arquitectura y tauromaquia. Siendo esta última, una de sus pasiones.
Actualmente trabaja en un proyecto que reflejará la exquisitez de la arquitectura de Venecia.


Peter Knaup, born in Francfort on Oder, begins after the end of his studies of economics a carear as a photographer in Barcelona, where he lives six months in 1973 to photograph the architecture of Antoní Gaudí.
In 1974 he opens a studio for stillife photography, at first in Munich and later on in Francfort.on Main. In Paris, where he settles in 1982, he gets quickly in touch with editorial photography. Soon he starts working for important fashion-, lifestyle-and decoration-magazines as well as for the advertising scene in Paris, London and Milano. He is the author of numerous international advertising campaigns.
Since the beginning of his interest for photography his favourite themes are architecture, landscape, portait and bullfight.

Actually he works on a project of architectural photography of Venice.
