Diego Ortiz Mugica wurde 1962 in Buenos Aires, Argentinien geboren. Er fotografiert fast auschließlich im Großformat 4x5" und 8x10" mit Ansel Adams "Zone System", das er bei dessen Entwickler John Sexton in Carmel Valley, California, erlernt hat.
Seine Motive sind vor Allem dramatische Landschaften in Argentinien, Patagonien und Feuerland, der Südspitze des lateinamerikanischen Kontinents.
Außerdem leitet er Workshops und Fotoreisen, z.B. in Patagonien, über "fine art photography" und "fine art archival printing".

Diego Ortiz Mugica nació el año 1962 en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fotógrafo que trabajó casi exclusivamente el gran formato 4x5" y 8x10" con Ansel Adams "Zonal System", y que aprendió con su revelador John Sexton en Carmel Valley, California. Sus motivos son, sobre todo, paisajes dramáticos de Argentina, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego y el extremo sur del continente latinoamericano. Diego Ortiz Mugica was born in 1962 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He photographs almost exclusively in 4x5" and 8x10" large format with Ansel Adams’ “Zone System”, which he learned how to use from its developer John Sexton, in the Carmel Valley, California.
His predominating motifs are dramatic landscapes in Argentina, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, the southern tip of the Latin American continent.
